I’m sure that there are plenty of nice sit-down restaurants in the Magic Kingdom, but we’ve never eaten at any of them. When our family is at this particular park, we are so on the go! Meals are as quick as possible so we can get right back to the rides and shows.
One of our favorite places to eat at the Magic Kingdom is Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café. This quick service restaurant is located in Tomorrowland near Fantasyland, right across from the Tomorrowland Speedway. Once, I mistakenly referred to this place as “Starlight Rick’s” and the name has stuck ever since.
We like “Starlight Rick’s” because it’s kind of like three restaurants in one. “Bay 1” is for chicken (rotisserie, nuggets, or sandwiches) and BBQ pork sandwiches. “Bay 2” has burgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers. “Bay 3” has a variety of sandwiches, as well as a Greek salad. There are several different side dishes and drinks, along with a few desserts. With this kind of variety all in one place, we can always find something for everyone.
Word of warning: you have to go to the different bays to order the different items, so plan carefully. If you can narrow your family’s selections down to just two of the bays (which is not that hard since there is some overlap in the menu items), each adult can take one bay and a kid or two as a helper, and you can get all of your food at roughly the same time. Also, there is plenty of seating here, so it’s not hard to find a table (unless you are there during a very high-traffic time).
Some of our other favorite “quick” restaurants in this park are Tortuga Tavern in Adventureland (warning: only open seasonally, as we found out this past January), Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café in Frontierland, and (as mentioned in my previous post) Casey’s Corner on Main Street USA.
What’s your favorite restaurant at the Magic Kingdom? Do you prefer quick service, table service, or a combination of the two?
