This place is awesome!
As I’ve mentioned before, we don’t go to very many sit-down restaurants when we’re at Disney World, as we always seem to have too much we want to accomplish to spend a couple of hours sitting still. The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, however, is a must!
This place is actually set up like an old-fashioned drive-in movie theater, complete with retro-looking car booths where you sit and eat while watching clips from black-and-white “B” movies on a gigantic screen. It’s incredibly cool!
The food here is quite good. On our most recent trip, we had burgers, steak, and shrimp pasta. Everyone loved their meals. Our only slight disappointment was that they had taken the ribs off the menu, which our boys had been looking forward to. I asked the waitress about this, who said that lots of people had been asking where the ribs went, and recommended that I contact Disney. When we got back home after our trip, I emailed Disney World via their website and explained how disappointed the boys were with the lack of ribs. I received both a return email and a phone call assuring me that the situation would be evaluated, and apologizing for this problem. Now, it wasn’t really a problem, just a slight blip, but it was nice of Disney to take it seriously. I just checked the menu online, and the ribs have not been added back in yet. Maybe it’s time for a follow-up email…
Ribs or no ribs, this place is definitely worth visiting for the yummy food and the retro-cool ambience.
