I’d heard a lot of great things about Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary Resort, but thought that our tween-agers were too old to appreciate character dining with Mickey and the gang. Plus, table-service restaurants tend to be a bit cost-prohibitive for our family of five. However… when we got the opportunity to have a few sit-down meals via the free dining plan special offer, we went ahead and made reservations for Chef Mickey’s – and, boy, were we glad we did!
We booked the last possible brunch seating, which in our case was at 11:10 AM. I’d read that this was a good idea as you get to spend more time with the characters since the brunch rush is winding down. This was true – we got character pics galore! Not to mention, the buffet-style brunch was delicious, with nearly every breakfast option you can imagine.
These days, when I ask my boys what they’d like to do most if we’re ever lucky enough to go back to Disney World, the response is “eat at Chef Mickeys!” I guess you’re never too old for Mickey Mouse!
